Wayne Russo JR – Spare Change
New artist Wayne Russo JR has released his 1st hit Spare Change. The song was based on a real life event. As Wayne was driving to work every day he saw this pan handler who was homeless and need Spare Change. Hence the title of the song. Wayne had never got anyone to produce the song. It was written by Wayne and he sent the raw recording of the song which was done 8 years ago. No production or main structure was done. So Wayne and his guitar buddy did a live acoustic version which was the basic raw performance. So when Wayne sent me that I immediately went into my home studio and within a matter of 30 mins the song took shape. The basic idea was his influences from Pearl Jam to Southern rock bands he loved. So taking ideas from that scenario I did some guitar parts and bass then sent him the quick recording. Wayne was very impressed the way the song worked out. So having loads of time on my hands I went in and did the rest of the song and then as it was finished. Wayne was excited to hear what else would be added to the track. So I told him about my work partner Mac, and I said he is such an amazing guy and he can rip it up. So when I delivered it to Mac he had so many ideas on the guitar arrangements. Me and mac did a zoom call and we went into the song. Within 3 hrs of recording the guitar parts Mac did the song justice. I mixed the track in 1 day and I cried afterwards on such a tremendous hit. The song was perfect.
